During our last fundraiser of 2016, Caren and I both ran the distance of a Marathon each, for six months, you all generously donated £280 – thank you so much! However….
This year I’m running an actual Marathon!!!
I was unable to get a place in the London Marathon, but did manage to get into the Brighton Marathon. I’ve sat on this news for a while, mainly because I didn’t think I would be ready in time. I still question the being ready bit, but did manage to run my furthest today, 16 tough miles.
I’m not looking to break any world records, but I am going to complete the 26.2 miles course.
Along with that I’m also hoping to achieve the following to make the tedious training a little more interesting:
- January: Run a half Marathon at least once a month for the rest of the year. (Jan & Feb all done!)
- February: Run at least 100 miles and complete a virtual challenge
- March: Run 20 miles at the MK Festival of Running (05/03/2017)
- April: Run the Brighton Marathon (26.2 Miles 09/04/2017)
We are still overwhelmed by the support we received from both SANDS and Children are Butterflies when our baby Clara was stillborn.
